FREEWAY POETS
Live Art, Poetry + Spoken Word
Wednesday 14th July

A general shout out to this brilliant event taking place at the home of Moon Street - The Winchester pub in Bournemouth. Back for the third time in as many months this evening-event encapsulates the cultural potential of Bournemouth - bringing Art in various forms to the fore in a stylish and interesting fashion. This isn’t just a chance to listen to poetry - its a chance to listen to music, watch live-art, feel inspired and even take part.

The event brings live illustration to the fore once more with the poets taking to the stage with the backdrop of both Krishna Malla (Technicolour Moon - below left) and Luke Trimminngs (local artist - below right) illustrating direct onto boards at the rear of the stage. This adds a unique twist to the preceedings - and allows the audience to drift into their imaginations and compare with the visual interpretations being created before their eyes - long live live art!

The last event saw the unbelievably talented Dizraeli come down and blow away the audience with some thought-evoking spoken word/musical display. It was truly awesome. And thats the beauty of this night - much like Moon Street - an oppurtunity to come down and experience something new, you never know you might just enjoy yourself!

This event sees Tshaka Menelik Imhotep Campbell (more easily known as TarMan) traveling from the USA to strut his stuff. A writer/poet and reincarnated Griot claims to change oral traditions; and after experiencing the previous Freeway events he is sure not to disappoint. Have a look at his website, the intro gives a taster for what to expect.
